Jeremy Lai is a secondary teacher in a through train IB world school in Hong Kong, teaching IBMYP Individuals & Society and IBDP Economics & TOK. He is highly skilled in explaining complex economic concepts in a simple, intuitive and engaging manner and demonstrating its relevance to our daily lives. As an IB economics examiner, his students find his delivery of important skills for exam success particularly rewarding; most noticeably the critical thinking and writing skills required to achieve level 7 in economics.
He has a BA (Hon) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from the University of Oxford and was a finalist in the 2016 British Council Distinguished Alumni Awards. He did his PGDE from the University of Hong Kong and has undergone assessment training (Category 2) for IBDP Economics conducted by the International Baccalaureate.

- Clarifying little known misconceptions and explaining the most testable and challenging concepts
- Uncovering the hints behind the exam question to answer the intended question being asked
- Learning the 4.5 tier essay structure to guarantee scoring the highest band in the assessment rubric
- Practicing the critical language and structure needed to succeed in the Paper 1 10 mark and 15 mark questions
- Learning to easily change descriptive answers to well argued, analytical and evaluative responses
- Think like an examiner through script marking practices.
- Sample, top-band answers would be provided on the day.
